Jessamine County Fair
4H/FFA Market Hog Show
Thursday, July 13th, 2023
Entry & Weigh-In: 4:00-5:30 pm
Show: 6:00 pm
General Rules
● Hogs must have current health papers. Kentucky Department of Agriculture health inspectors will be on-site.
● The show committee reserves the right to disqualify any hog showing visible signs of illness or injury.
● Hogs must be KUIP tagged & validated through Kentucky 4 H/FFA & KDA.
● No pen space will be provided, but wash racks will be available.
● Market gilts & barrows are eligible to compete.
Showmanship
● Classes- age as of January 1st, 2023
○ Senior (17-21)
○ Intermediate (14-16)
○ Junior (12-13)
○ Clover (9-11)
○ Novice (8 & under)
● Showmanship prizes will be awarded to the winner of each age division in lieu of premiums.
Market Show
● Novice exhibitors are limited to entering two (2) hogs in the novice show.
● All other exhibitors are limited to entering four (4) hogs in the show.
● Hogs will be weighed on the day of the show & classes will be broken by the show committee.
● Premiums for all classes:
○ 1st- $25
○ 2nd- $20
○ 3rd- $15
○ 4th- $10
○ 5th- $5
○ 6th-$5
○ 7th-$5
○ 8th-$5
● Overall premiums:
○ Novice Champion- $50
○ Novice Reserve- $25
○ 4-H/FFA Champion- $100
○ 4-H/FFA Reserve- $50
○ Jessamine County Champion- $75
○ Jessamine County Reserve- $25
● Premium checks will be mailed to exhibitors.
